After falling in love with Dance music on a trip to Ibiza, Lucy’s passion for music has acted as both huge inspiration and motivation to her. She states ‘If one single track can make you feel unstoppable, euphoric, and completely comfortable and content with yourself for just a few minutes not to mention sexy, beautiful and warm; this has to be one of the greatest gifts in life you can share with people, even if it is just for a short time’. ‘That’s why I got into Dj’ing and that is why I will continue to DJ for as long as I can.
Since her debut on the scene Lucy has accomplished a great deal in a relatively short space of time.
Since a chance meeting with Mark Doyle, the main man behind the massive Hed Kandi brand and now Fierce Angels, Lucy was taken under his wing. This has led to guest DJ slots at Neighbourhood, Newcastle’s infamous Digital, (with Seb Fontaine and the mighty Audiofly), Woody’s, Canvas, Sin and Es Vive’s Electric Cabaret closing parties in Ibiza last summer and 2007. Lucy also played for club night Mimo at The Cross which was the last ever Friday night at the historic venue. Also Ministry of Sound for Prehab alongside The Gallery, Hernan Cattaneo, Scarlette Etienne and Tall Paul.
As well as a host of return bookings Lucy is branching out into the world of promotion with her own night.
Lucy’s musical style is unique, spinning Dirty, Electro, Tech and Progressive House along side each other. With this versatility she is equally at home in underground clubs and/or more corporate events.
Not content with just DJ’ing Lucy is also the face of Broadband provider’s ‘Tiscali Music’. Lucy presents the ‘Tiscali Sessions and Showcase’ every month, which involves hosting the show, interviewing established bands and exciting new acts that are coming through onto the music scene. She has so far interviewed amongst others the likes of Faithless, Juliette and the Licks, The Feeling and Amy Winehouse. And most recently Judge Jules, Goldie, Tim Westwood, Mylo and Ed Simons for Mixmags 25th Birthday event. She has also presented shows on C5, ITV and Sky Sports and Challenge.
This year has been an incredible journey for her not just musically but personally too. Coming from an international athletic background this new and exciting world has replaced the old one but the determination and motivation she had for reaching the top has stayed the same. |
